Calderona 2004 Crianza
Calderona 2004 Crianza (Tempranillo)

This wine had everything I tend to look for in a Tempranillo. Because it's been aged, it had a nice, but not overwhelming earthy flavor, and when drinking it, I sensed that it wouldn't age nicely much longer. Good tobacco and some spice-box flavors, not as robust as Volver Tempranillo (one of my favorites) but a bit less new-world, too. At $10-12 a bottle, this wine rewards the finder with a delightful drinking experience. Overall, between three and four stars.
